Yowza, a great lecture in just three days!

Topic: Fruit Hunting and Growing Paradise

Speaker: Anthony Anderson

Location: Veterans Memorial Building, Multipurpose Room,  4117 Overland Ave., Culver City 90230

Our lecturer this week is chapter member Anthony Anderson of Grow Paradise. Anthony has been a fruit and garden enthusiast for over a decade and has traveled to SE Asia, Latin America, Mongolia, Europe, and Hawaii in search of rare varieties of fruit and soon after became deeply involved in planting fruit trees both home and abroad.

He established his initial forest garden near his parents in Minnesota in 2008, and since has helped establish many more in different climates.  Traveling primarily between the Big Island of Hawaii and the mainland for the past three years, he now hosts eco-retreats where guests are immersed in a life of fruit trees, swimming with wild dolphins, and exploring the island.  He is currently working with different fruit farms on the Big Island and hopes to establish his own food forest there soon.

He will be sharing highlights of his past travels and insights into fruit tourism and edible landscaping principles. This young man has lots of enthusiasm for fruit trees and the idea that we can “grow paradise” right here and now, while having the best time ever.
