Field Trip: March 18th @ 10 am

Our field trip will take us to the backyard garden of West Los Angeles members Hal and Cicely Golden, overlooking the Santa Monica airport.  Fragrant roses intermingle with wonderfully productive nectarine, bananas and fig trees, as well as chocolate persimmon, plum, lime, blood orange, pomegranate, mulberry and blueberries. One unusual feature of the Goldens’ garden is the two-story Concord grape that covers one side of the house.  Hal promises that their blood oranges are in season and he has some to share!

In addition, the Goldens have very productive bee hives on their west slope that make wonderful honey!  Hal will explain how bee-keeping works.

Come and see what our members grow!

IMPORTANT Plea for participation!!!

Following the field trip we will have a planning meeting for the West LA Chapter.  We need your support to make our chapter vibrant.  We need a large team to help plan our speakers and field trips, send our newsletters, and many other things.  You may even think of other events our members would enjoy!  So, plan to stay after the garden visit and take an active part in our great chapter!  The estimated time for the planning meeting is 11:00 until noon.
