Field Trip: “Little Farm” May 10th @ 10 a.m.

We will take a wonderful tour of Larraine and Clive Segil’s ‘Little Farm.’ Their garden is on just under 2 acres and includes 350 fruit trees! There are all kinds of citrus, plums, peaches, pluots, date palms, avocados, papayas, mangos and persimmons. There’s an entire banana grove, as well as grape vines and lettuces. There are cherimoya and sapote trees, cherry of the Rio Grande, kei apple and jaboticaba. There are definitely too many to list. It’s a fruit-lover’s paradise.

In addition to trees, they have alpine and pygmy goats, a chicken coop with some 30 chickens and 20 quail, a koi pond, and a tilapia hatchery! Clive notes that the ‘Little Farm’ is too small to have a big field with neat rows, so they have stepped gardens and dirt paths that cross and wind. There’s a surprise at every turn.

For location, please contact one of our officers under Contact Us menu. Carpool if possible, as parking is very limited. The garden is on a slope, with steep ups and downs, so wear your sensible shoes and come enjoy Little Farm!
